I heard footsteps and voices now extremely close to where I was…they were just on the other side of the door I had just recently crashed through.  I had to think fast.  Should I dart over behind some of those boxes and random equipment?  No.  That would be incredibly stupid.  I mean, there were also abundant weapons nearby.  If I were to be discovered, I would be easily overpowered by these men, especially if they were armed.  Then it occurred to me.  I should quietly enter the pool.  I was a talented swimmer and was adept at holding my breath for up to three minutes before having to come up again for air.  I dashed over to the edge of the pool and tried in an instant to figure if this was the shallow or deep end.  Fuck it.  Why the hell would it matter?  I am evading people who sound like they want to do harm to me.  I don’t want to be found, I don’t want to be tortured, I certainly don’t want to be killed.  Slowly but purposefully, I slid into the water…just in the nick of time.  As I submerged my entire body into the water, I could tell that five men had just stormed through the door and were now in the room with me, just feet away from the pool where I was hidden.  Through the water I could see what appeared to be sniffing.  These men, with an appearance at least suggesting they were men, were sniffing the air like animals would…in an attempt to catch my scent and lock onto my location.  I’m really glad now that there is a pool here.  They can’t smell me through the water!
